Hopkinton's town government outgrew the original historic town hall many years ago when two additions were added to the original structure. Once again, another addition was required to house the growing administration.

The solution was to locate the newest addition in the rear of the cluster of original buildings in order to preserve the architectural character of the historic structures. The new addition also forms an exterior courtyard for the complex.

The new addition replicates the exterior detail of the original structures in order to blend in with the rest of the complex. A covered trellised walkway connects the buildings in order to shield pedestrians from inclement weather.
